Ray

The Ray is a photovore 'Herbie' bot built in the shell of a USB modem. The Herbie photovore uses an LM386 audio op-amp to compare two light sources and move in accordance with them. The Ray photovore is powered by a 9v battery so it is quite fast! As a result I need to add some long bumper sensors to stop it smashing everything it comes near! I was quite desperate to see if it would work as I didn't have a breadboard at the time, so I shall tidy up the wiring when i have time to work on it.

You can see from the picture that the wheels have been geared using technic lego. A very simple method that helps a lot on a fast robot, and the extra torque is always welcome.

Circuit schematic to come.
