Firebot - Line Following Robot

Firebot, by Lol Elner. This robot was created for his year 2 project at John Moores University, Liverpool. The brief was to create a line following robot which did not use a processor. It should also stop if an object is placed in front of it, and stop if the line runs out.

The results are fantastic, for build information see the line following section.

              


Above you can see the 38Khz object detector in the front window. The emiiter is just below this between the top shell and the base.

              




              


In the above pictures you can see the roller used for the front wheel. This was salvaged from an old laptop (pre-touch pad!) it works perfectly for this purpose.
